I canNOT believe it!!!!!!!1

Is it some cruel joke??!?!?! It's gotta be.. right? Someone's punking me??

Stupid weight scale. Last week I was celebrating another 5 lbs lost.. This week, I'm ready to chuck the thing out the door... I've manageed to gain those 5 lbs back somehow. Been eatting right, working that treadmill over (5 out of the last 7 days)--and I've gained 5 lbs!??!?!

*sigh*

Hello cruel morning....

So I've been fighting with my treadmill.... Been staying up until 1am-ish for well over a month now.. Last night I kicked my treadmill's butt, and passed out before 10pm.. My reward--up before 5am this morning. O.o

Hopefully this doesn't make for a terribly long day.

So, been plugging along. Total of 17 lbs lost. Not excited that I haven't lost any poundage in a week--hence the fighting with the treadmill. I did have to give up the jogging. It was making my calves and feet swell up and hurt. And I don't mean a little swollen.. I mean I had to get a pair of those every-so-sexy compression knee-highs that surgery patients wear.... Thanks for all of you guys' support!! It's not easy. My resume is FILLED with living however I want. And now, well, I've had to make some major changes. But, it's all going to be worth it. I want to be a mom someday (I know--scary thought.. my directing the future of America.), and well, I've got to be healthy to do that. And I kinda want to be around for life, period.

Although righ tnow I wouldn't mind some more one on one time with my pillow....

The good and the bad

So I bought a new scale last night.. A digital one, that hopefully will be much more helpful than the dial one we had. And as of today, since the beginning of my journey (but definitely within the last three weeks), I've lost 17lbs. GO ME!!!!!

So that's the good.

The bad--I had some coffee last night with regular creamer, and it totally threw off all the hardwork from my day. It tasted AWESOME (WAY better than sugar-free creamer), but I'm not thinking it was worth it. Of course, now that I know this, I shall avoid the regular coffee creamer like the plague. But oh man.. so good. And if I woulda thought that it would have blown all the hardwork of the day, I woulda made it worth it with a birthday cake ice cream milk shake from the Marble Slab Creamery--not 3 stupid shots of French Vanilla Creamer. No--I haven't thought about that at all... :-) Oye.

Today's the day

And I gotta admit I'm nervous... Hence me being up before anyone should be required to. I go back to the dr today.... to see what my progress has been. It's been slow these past few days.

My calves and feet started swelling. The best way to describe it is to say that they felt "full". Sure enough, pulled my sock down on Thursday, and it was all kinds of dug into my ankle--and they weren't tigh-fitting socks. I've been pushing myself, though. Started jogging some--jog for a while, walk until I can catch my breath, jog... My legs started a couple of days after that. Mom gave me a pair of her graduated compression knee-highs--Gosh did that look sexy!! But, by Sunday all the swelling in my legs had gone away. I plan to mention that this afternoon to the dr. But I didn't walk Fri, Sat, or Sun. Regardless, this ole girl will be at least walking this evening.

On a diff note, Valentine's day was awesome. My husband bought me two Valentine ads in the local paper.. One of the sweetest things he's done.. I planned a foot massage, but either my nerves or my dinner (which did not effect him) had me feeling sick to my stomach all last evening... So that kinda put a damper on that. He's a good man, though, and didn't complain a bit... Guess I'll be making up for that one--I really don't like feet. Like to GET foot massages, but could do without giving them...

So, I reckon I'll report back later. At least getting up so early I can get to work early, and not miss too much time. Friday was busy (had to come in late and leave early to avoid overtime), so I've got a couple of things to catch up on that I didn't get accomplished. So maybe this extra hour will come in handy that way....

It's kinds like spittin in the ocean... but....

Ya gotta start somewhere, right?

I'm not 100% trusting my scale, but it reports that in the last 2 wks or so I've lost 12-ish lbs. Go back to the dr on Monday to see for sure. I do know that my jeans are not as exrutiatingly tight as they were two weeks ago. Shirts are fitting a little better.

I started with the treadmill last week... Two days later, I quit... Today I picked it up again... This time armed with MY Ipod (why does my husband's Ipod have Cher on it?? Nothing wrong with Cher, just my husband is not the Cher-kinda guy). I turned it on, and away I went. This time I alternated between jogging for 30 seconds or so and walking for 2-3 mins. Right at the end I thought I was going to hurl, and win I finally made it to the couch, I was a bit-lightheaded. But.. I did it. And it didn't seem as long this time... I was there for 35 mins, and it really did breeze by.. ESP those 2-3 mins between the jogging.. lol

Tomorrow I plan to do the same. Get off work, come home, work out for however long it takes me to reach a mile and a half (will adjust my goal to whatever takes at least 30 mins after I can do that one), then cook, then veg, then sleep. I'm hoping this will help me sleep better two. Am going on my third week of up til after 1am, then waking up at 7a to get ready for work....

So that's my journey for now.....

Just lovely

The news from my doctor was bad. Not really ready to share it with the world quite yet. Friends at work keep asking me, I keep not wanting to talk about it.

What I will say is that some major changes are in store for me. Going to see a specialist in 2 weeks.... Great. Why did I let this happen to myself? It's all my fault. If I just would have listened.

Someone from work has been talking about all the fat people at the gym. I finally was like--"WOW! What do you think of me?!?!?" It actually hurt my feelings. It was not intended to, and the person that said that over and over was not directing it towards me. But let's face it--I'm fat. Told that person I'd do lap-band surgery if I could get my insurance to pay for it. They didn't understand. I simply asked--"have you ever been fat like me?" To which the answer was no. "Then you wouldn't understand."

Tonight I got on the treadmill and walked until my legs felt like jelly.... Now they are tingly jelly. But at least I made it inside on my own.... I kept repeating "I AM THE HEAD, I AM NOT THE TAIL. I AM ABOVE, AND NOT BELOW. I AM THE LENDER, NOT THE BORROWER. I WILL OVERCOME, I WILL NOT BE DESTROYED." That and some very nice music helped.....
