"Thank you for your obedience."

She couldn't have known the magnitude of what she was saying. But that hit me like a ton of bricks. I've spent so long doing just the opposite. NOT obeying. Not listening, not doing what I am supposed to.

So I've decided to stop doing that, and start trying to listen to God (like when your good southern momma said "You had better listen to me!!!" That meant you'd better do what she said!!). My health is not where it should be.. all b/c I didn't listen.. Started to last year.. Makes me sick to think that I've wasted yet another year--not listening.. Where would I be now? Would I be pregnant?

My walk with God hasn't gone very far.. And that's my fault as well.. B/c I haven't been listening in other areas, why would God try to show me anything substantial? I haven't been faithful with the little. Oh sure, I'll give Him some little stuff, but even with that I think He needs my help.

So, my pastor reminded me that I needed to get back to what I started last year--like what Paul told a church--just do what the heck you said you would do last year, that's what he needed them to do. My pastor has reminded me that God's blessing flows from obeying Him.. And well, if that's true, must mean that cursing comes from not obeying him.

So I'm starting to obey. It's not very easy. I'm just two weeks into this new year, and this strong-willed child already has skint (southern speak) knees from falling down on my promises to myself. But I've had successes, too.

Like when she said, "Thank you for your obedience."
